I guess it's been almost 2 months...

So this is a little sad and pathetic. I wanted a blog for a little while, and now that i have one, i really don't care about it. Mostly because you know... you wanna make it interesting for someone else to waste their time reading, but you don't wanna open your whole life story to someone. Also, what's up with the whiny blogs? Really? Do people not have anything better to do than spend their day whining to an online blog? Get a dog. Then at least  you can cuddle with it, right? You could even just write it all in your personal journal. Then maybe when you get old and die, your grandchildren will read it and be like- "man! that grandma so-and-so was a whiner! can you imagine having to deal with that?!" Okay, I will give exceptions... some people don't have friends. And what better thing to do than complain to people who don't even know you? If they read it, that's their own fault. I will say that I also understand having days where you are a little grumpy, and don't care if the world knows it. Secretly you just want people to feel sorry for you. You can have those days... just not everyday. Am I being to rude here? Perhaps I am... I should try and be a little nicer. I really don't read very many blogs. I just hear about them.

I don't know what persuaded me to write on my faithful little blog here. Perhaps the lack of interest in everything else that is going on in the online world. You know, i've been thinking. Facebook is becoming a way of life. Jump online, see how everyone else's lives are going. Really, what would you do without it? The same thing as before? which was... nothing? I wonder how much of peoples internet surfing is limited to just Facebook. Really... Think about it. If we got rid of it, would internet companies lose money? I'll admit i spend time on Hulu.com and I check my email... but that is usually the extent of it. Sometimes i won't even touch my facebook all day, but it's logged in on my computer most the time. In fact, it's in another tab right now. I could live without Hulu, we have Netflix... Interesting concept to think about. What would you spend the boring part of your days doing? Plus, half my plans with my friends are made through facebook. Which is completely pathetic. Would we begin using our phones a little more to have live contact with people? Maybe it wouldn't be a super bad thing. But where we are now, everyone is doing it. I'm just saying: if facebook randomly crashed... what would we facebook addicts go back to doing? think about it...

Okay, let's bring up a more positive subject. I don't want you all crying at the thought of Facebook leaving. It's not going anywhere anytime soon. My little brother just left to serve a mission for our church. It's actually really weird at night. He used to be the last one in. Now I can lock the door when I come in. Actually I have been really good. I never hang out with anyone anymore, so i'm usually home. But Denise.... what a naughty girl. I see her while she's working  yesterday and say, "I'll see you at 10:45, when you get home!" I even saved her some pizza that i bought. After it hit 12:15 i texted her. No response. I proceeded to text again at 12:40, and finally at 12:45 i called her to see if she was dead. Instead she laughs, and says she's about to come home. I took a bite of the pizza i had originally saved for her, and threw it in the fridge. That goober. haha! So i guess we do have to worry about Denise. She has now become the rebellious child who doesn't come home at night.

New news... I got a new car! okay it was like a month ago. But i'm still trying to get it to pass emissions. haha! It isn't that hard. Only a 300 dollar expense. Which is actually lucky. I know that my car is in good shape, and getting a new part only guarantees that you won't have to replace that part again for a while. So I'm looking at this positively. Why make yourself mad about it? The only frustrating part about it was trying to find the exact part. We haven't gotten the part in yet, and i'm really crossing my fingers that it will work. It's a complicated situation. For future reference to everyone else: Don't buy a car that needs to meet California emissions. If you do, look at it positively. They seem a little more strict, so maybe your car will be full of good parts that will last longer, right? RIGHT! One more thing about the car. She doesn't have a name... I've been trying to think of a good one, but i got nothin'. And i'm not getting a lot of suggestions. So if you have an idea, shout it out.

"I'd have Marshmellow Maties on my deep fried chicken."

Oh my goodness, i know not where to start today. Okay, Okay... Lets start with the best quotes over the last week (I'll try and set them up a little):

-Christmas Morning my brothers woke up early and made breakfast for the family. (like i said, hearts of gold). So my mom walks in and says, "Wow! Those are beautiful eggs!" To which Tanner instantly throws out, "You should have seen the chickens!" Ha!
-Later we look at our presents (they get put in piles for us), and we saw that we had received Motor Oil. "Times have changed. Santa now delivers liquid coal."
-I bought Daisy a bone for Christmas, knowing she wouldn't enjoy a toy like Toby. Well Daisy showed little interest in the bone. Unless Godiva tried to eat it. It was even Hickory flavored! One of the brothers stated, "Daisy only likes fast food." Nothing she has to work at. I guess I should have gotten her a cheeseburger.
-"I've never seen a white elephant." -Tanner

It's been fun here at work, as well. Tuesday was supposed to be our "funtivity" for the OPS team, so we were supposed to go to a movie as well as lunch, but we only hit up lunch. Which was fine. We went to a Thai place next to Zurchers in Orem. I forget what's it's called. It was pretty good. I ordered orange chicken and i'm stoked to get home and eat it. Today we also got to go out to eat! My boss felt bad for us, because there were a few of us that had no choice but to be at work. So we went to La Carretas (is that how it's spelled? idk) behind Sizzler in Orem. It was AMAZING! It's Peruvian, so it was a brand new experience. I had chicken that was marinated in grapefruit juice and garlic, topped with parsley. SO GOOD! It came with Rice, a salad, and french fries... french fries? yeah, that's what i thought. delicious! but odd...It was kinda funny because the salad didn't look like salad.  it was shredded lettuce with tomatoes and stuff on top. Honestly i didn't know it was a salad... It looked like something I'd throw on a burger, so i didn't touch it. Finally when we were all finished, i got a little hassle from my friend at work about not eating the salad. I was like- what salad? oh... that's a salad? haha! oh well. I was stuffed to the rim! just like Brian Reagan when he eats 2 Fig Newtons. But i really ate a ton. *Minus the salad that looked like toppings to a burger. :) I also got a gift card for a Frozen Yogurt place for being here. When my company takes care of you, they REALLY take care of you.
Does anyone else hate the snow that has been falling ALL DAY?! I barely got out of the driveway, then i was going 15 mph on my straight road, and i was practically all over! It was really scary. Luckily Provo roads were WAY better than Spanish Fork and Palmyra. I do hope it stops snowing, even though i know it's not supposed to stop for a while. I hope people stay safe during the storm! Lets not have power poles falling down again. did i write about that? probably not. I'll do that when i'm on my laptop. My pictures are uploaded on there. And on Facebook. Okay, be safe!

Blessings Unleashed

So today i've been a little ornery. I'm at work, and there aren't very many people around, and what i really want is to be home, curled up in my blanky, watching old black and white christmas shows with my sisters. So i thought i'd write some things i'm grateful for to cheer me up a bit.

1. My family. You know, everyone fights and at times i think that i would be better off far far away... but the truth is, i love my family. No one else is always there like my sisters are. They take the time to listen, and they'll do completely spontaneous activities with me, and when one of us is sad, the other one is too. I also have the most amazing brothers. They have hearts of gold! They always want to help improve something, or fix something. They can't help but be helpful. I also don't want to forget my parents. They would and sometimes do give everything just to help their kids.

2. My friends. Of course they had to come second! I have the best friends any one person could ask for. In fact i'm almost tearing up because of the love they show for me. The past couple years haven't been the easiest for me, and definitely not for my friends who have had to deal with me. But i appreciate those who did. I love you guys with all my heart.

3. My job. As much as i don't really want to be here right at this second, i LOVE my job! I'm so blessed to be able to have a job that i can go to everyday. That i know i'm secure in, and where good work doesn't go unnoticed. The people i work with are phenomenal. They are very inclusive, and appreciative, and they make work a good and fun environment to be in. There are not very many days where i don't want to go to work. and even on those days, it's not because of the job, it's usually just because i want to be home. But i'm very blessed to have this job, and be able to earn good money.

4. The Gospel. Where would i be without it?? I can't imagine how terrible it would be to go through life not knowing why you're here, or where you might end up after you are taken away from this Earth. Or without knowing that we have a Savior who atoned for our sins so that we can repent and be made whole again. Where would we be without the comfort of our Heavenly Father or our Savior. I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to be born into this great Gospel and work that is going forth.

5. Technology. Yesterday with the snow storm we had a power pole fall down, blocking the road. The wires also blocked our driveways so we couldn't go anywhere. We were stuck at home with no power, water, or internet. I know it sounds super pathetic. But you really appreciate them when you have nothing else. Some good old fashioned legos were pulled out, and books, and more sleeping. But most importantly, good conversation. It was fun just chatting and not worrying about much else. (besides getting water from outside to fill up the toilet and when you had to go.) Needless to say, as soon as the roads were open we all left... but still.

6. Music. Oh my goodness, what would we do without music?! Music is on when we clean, it's on when we drive, and when we just sit around. It's everywhere! Can you imagine how boring life would be without music? Drives would be endless, work would be tedious (not that it isn't already.) House work would be impossible, and life would just be boring all around. Music sets the mood. It can change you from happy to sad, from sad to happy. From mad to calm, from dull to spiritual. It is so powerful! When you decide your music, you decide your mood.

Well those are my top 6. I'm sure as the day goes on i'll think of many more. In fact, i'm thinking of more as i type this, but i'm kinda sick of typing. So, i'll leave you with this. Merry Christmas! Be sure to remember Christ on this day. Lets not be so self absorbed that we forget what Christmas is all about.

Inhaling Candy

You know, i had a feeling i would suck at this blog thing. After a month it has proven to be true. Well it's been a fun couple of weeks!

This is my work buddy, Jord
an. She is SO much fun! We get lunch together every day, and although she is on the TC team, OPS has adopted and brought her into our family as their own. :)

So Thanksgiving was definitely Thanksgiving. We were all doin' our thing and my sisters dog was scratching on the door and driving me crazy! So in my small brain i thought that maybe if i pounded on the door, it would scare her. So that is what i did. First of all, it didn't scare her. ...And second, i hurt my stupid hand. It's been 3 weeks, and it still hurts like crazy! I did get it x-rayed, but all the doctor said was that it was not broken. Really? Not broken? that's it??? Anything else you wanna share? Cuz it surely feels broken. I think it's about time to go back about it... but to a different doctor. I haven't wrapped it in a few days. And it hurts, but the wrap was so annoying. I just have to remember not to touch it on things, or pick things up, or push open doors, ... you know... I'll just not use it. ha! Hoping it just gets better fast.

BUT- check this out. After Th
anksgiving shopping was great! I didn't do the early morning crap. I went to Walmart at midnight and purchased 4 movies, then at 1 PM the next day i went to office depot, where i bought a digital camera. Hala! I know how to do it!

It was my birthday on Monday, and to be honest i wasn't expecting much. I had 2 finals that morning and i had to work until 5 so i had no hopes of having a good time. i was totally proven WRONG! I got to work and my manager came to my desk and asked where i would like to eat. I was like- what?! i get to go out to eat?! (i only work for 5.5 hours a day,
so normally i wouldn't go out to lunch.) So i chose to go to Chilles, where i got a bacon cheeseburger the size of my face! It was... to say the least, AMAZING!!! hopefully i get pictures on here. if not, I'll put them on facebook. so that night i came home and a couple close friends came over and we just chilled. it was great! Yesterday was my work Christmas party. i got sung to twice! (once for my bday, and the other for my team winning the food drive.) I got a card from my completely amazing job and free tickets to cinemark, and a Christmas bonus that i had no idea was coming, AND a honey-baked ham for Christmas! AWWW!! I love my new job! and not just for the benefits. Everyone there is so sweet and generous. :)

So with my Christmas bonus i think I'll go Christmas shopping!!! i totally haven't done that yet! I'm probably the most crazy person alive. So buying for my brother, Tyler, will be fun... What should i get him? maybe i should do an assortment of presents, so that no matter what, i win. :) That's like- selfish and unselfish at the same time. hmm.... Totally random, but for my birthday i asked for a snow scraper. I waited to buy one because my mom didn't know what to get me and i thought that would be one useful thing i could tell her i wanted that i could use. well... i didn't get one.... and when i went out to car yesterday, it was covered in snow! go figure! worst part is that i couldn't get into my car because the snow had hardened on the side. so it's 6 in the morning, and i'm trying to find the handle... and no success. So i get the scraper my dad keeps on the side of the railing and i start stabbing my car with it hoping to find the handle. (don't tell my dad!) eventually, i found it. haha! so i guess having a scraper in my car wouldn't have helped at all, cuz i couldn't get in.

Awesome news of the day! I'm going to be passing my Science class. YIPPEEEE!!!! Now i just gotta worry about German... :/ Went to Winco for the first time on Wednesday! The bulk section is like a dream! Let me just say that there will be a lot of candy at today's ward activity... where we will be making gingerbread houses... or just inhaling candy and pizza. :)

Today was p
robably one of the saddest days ever! The beautiful Tabernacle burned and i'm completely devastated! I feel like it was a person, cuz in my head i keep thinking: i should have gone to the Thanksgiving concert, and i shoulda done this and that. I have to keep telling myself that it's just a building that meant a lot. But i had my first solo in that building. Not that i ever did more solos after that, but it was such a fun building. Looking at the pictures devastate me. My friend went this morning and took pictures. Here's one of them. Mine aren't that good because i took them as i was driving to work. I hope they rebuild it just exactly the same as it was before!

Hot Chocolate...YUMM!

I wanted to update you on my goals last week. I actually don't remember what they are; BUT, I do remember that i was going to clean my room, and it was mostly a success. I went to bed a little after 1 AM on Friday night. We still had a couple loads of laundry to finish, but we accomplished SO much. I say "we" as though my sister did a ton, when in fact, I proudly did a lot before she got home from work. :D She did help, though.
This year has been weird in the fact that: I've been listening to Christmas Music and enjoying it, I'm genuinely excited for Christmas in general, I've come to appreciate my family more, and last but not least- I've become addicted to hot chocolate!
I have sent myself on a quest to find GOOD hot chocolate, and it has not been easy! Every couple of days I stop at a different gas station, hoping for something good. In high school we always went to SAGS on Main street in Spanish Fork, but when i returned there this year, I was highly disappointed. Today was more successful than most. I hit up Conoco on Orem Center Street, and to my surprise, they had 3 flavors! White Chocolate, Mint Chocolate, and Milk Chocolate. WOWSIES! I went for the mint. It was the best yet! I shall of course try all 3 flavors this season. (and yes, i had to change the colors of the whole post so that i could have white chocolate be the only white lettering. Thanks for asking. :D ) We might just have a new favorite gas station! Lets not jump the gun, though. ;) There are still hundreds more i can try before winter is over! HALA! If any of you have favorite places to get hot chocolate, i would love to hear them! Preferably gas stations, because it's easily accessible.

Goals For The Week

I decided to make a list of goals this week. I thought that if I posted them on my blog, it would make it slightly more official than thinking them all in my head.

  • Goal #1: Math takes first priority everyday. Complete each assignment, and turn them in on time. I don't have a huge problem with this one. I am actually pretty good at doing that as it is. But if i make it a goal, and nothing else gets done, then I'll still feel a little more productive.

  • Goal #2: Do ANYTHING in German. As I am right now, a little will go a long way. I am so horrible at getting my German homework done. Today I totally bombed the speaking part of the test. Ah! I think I need to ground myself.

  • Goal #3: Walk 10,000 steps a day. This is part of the wellness challenge my work is doing. I am on a team, so I can't let them down! Now for some of you, you may think: this is crazy, i walk twice this far everyday. I do not. I walk a third of this a day. And that is stretching it! So, I will have to start parking further away, and going for walks and jogs. It will be good for me. Having a little more motivation to get into shape.

  • Goal #4: This may sound ridiculous, but: clean my room. It's a disaster! On Friday, my sister and brother-in-law are flying into town and taking over my sister's room. This means that for a little over a week, my sister will be stationed in my room... there shall be 3 of us! Now this was okay when we were all younger and had a tenth of the amount of clothes. But my younger sister and I share a room, and there is not enough space for us! I have things in boxes, and our clothes are everywhere! The closet is too small, and our dressers don't hold all of our clothes. So when we wash all of them, they get put in laundry baskets (because there's no where else to put them) and as we wear things everything gets mixed up... it's a nightmare! I literally dig through my clothes to find things. I know, it's revolting, but what do you do when you both don't fit in a room? Now I know what you're thinking again... Move out? yes, this might be a good alternative to my problems, but I am a little of a money hog. I don't want to go back to being moneyless. So here I stay, for now. And the room WILL get cleaned!
So wish me luck on my goals! I know it's not very many. Like 4? but it seriously will take a lot of work and a lot of my time! Have a great day!!
